The Twin Parish Port District has received a two million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation for infrastructure at the Port of Delcambre. The MARAD Port Infrastructure Development Program grant will fund dock restoration on two aging structures, as well as the construction of a new industrial fabrication facility.
With the sounds of the Tee Chaoui Trio Band, the Babineaux Sisters and The Beau Young Band rocking into the night, the new Bayou Carlin Cove dock recently opened in Delcambre, La. The opening culminates a seven-year effort by the Twin Parish Port Commission to fund and construct the $4 million facility.
To meet an ever-increasing demand for fresh, quality gumbo-sized shrimp, the Port of Delcambre and Delcambre Direct Seafood program have introduced the first product in the state carrying the “Certified Authentic Louisiana Wild Seafood” – the Vermilion Bay Sweet White Shrimp gumbo pack.
