The Gulf seafood family has suffered a loss with the passing of Diane Menard Gossen, wife of Gulf seafood champion Jim Gossen.   The 70-year-old Diane passed away in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Dec. 5th, at the family home in Lafayette with her family at her side.

A year and a half ago Diane was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and began treatment under the supervision of the medical staff at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Pancreatic cancer is very invasive into other organs of the body.

Diane derived great joy and accomplishment in her life from her family. Her happiest days were spent surrounded by family; the sound of her grandchildren running through the house was known to bring a smile to her face.

Jim and her shared a love for cooking, especially Gulf seafood.   She would often post photos of their dishes on social media.  A former interior designer, she shared her inner beauty with the world in everything she created.

Jim, who serves as chairman of the Gulf Seafood Foundation, and his family were especially grateful to the staff of Heart of Hospice for their loving care during Diane’s time of need.  “I wanted to be right by her side when she needed me the most,” Jim told Gulf Seafood New.
