The 13th Annual Houston Press Menu of Menus Extravaganza presented features culinary delights served by more than 40 area restaurants pared with wine, beer and spirit sampling. The Extravaganza is presented Stella Artois, a Belgium brewer who has been crafting beers since 1926.

Houston restaurants that will be serving their culinary creations include: Ragu Pesto, songKran Thai Kitchen, Shipley Donuts, VertsKebap, Pollo Tropical, Pepperoni’s, Pi Pizza Truck, Latin Bites, Number 13, Eculent, Maine-ly Sandwiches, Habanea, Garson Restaurant and a host of others.

“We are proud to be providing more than 3000 high pressure processed oysters that are fresh from our own Galveston Bay,” said Halili about his company’s sponsorship of the event. “This is a great marketing opportunity for thousands of Houstonites and visitors to taste our unique oysters that come fresh form the Gulf.’

The annual event will be held at the Silver Street Station located just northwest of downtown at 1500 Silver Street. It will also feature the 4th Annual Iron Fork Chef Competition presented by Whole Foods Market.

Hosted by Randy Evans of Southern Son Restaurant Consulting, the Iron Fork competition showcases two of Houston’s most popular up and coming chefs as they face off in a head-to-head cooking competition judged by local area celebrities. Chef Kevin Naderi of Roost and Lillo & Ella will face off against Chef Randy Rucker of Bramble for the “Iron Fork” award and Houston bragging rights.

A portions of the proceeds will benefit Kids’ Meals, a non-profit, community based organization, serving healthy lunches to over 1,700 hungry pre-school aged children, living in poverty in the Houston area. The charity provides and delivers nutritious meals, free of cost to the families year-round.
